RGV This Week

Free things to do in McAllen and the RGV

You do not need to spend money to have a good weekend in the Valley. This page lists upcoming events where entry is free, from McAllen to Brownsville to South Padre Island. It pulls straight from our calendar, so new free events show up here as soon as we add them.

Most weeks you can count on free farmers markets on Saturday mornings, art walks on first Fridays, and park events run by the cities. In November and December the list grows with tree lightings, Christmas parades and light shows, many of them free to walk through.

Free means free to get in. Some events sell food, rides or parking, and we say so in the listing when the organizer tells us. McAllen events are shown first, then the rest of the Valley. Know a free event we missed? Add it with our free form and we will review it.
